Photography in Berlin Zine

Last week we brought my mother in law for one of our favourite activities with visitors, a walk down Auguststraße. This street is packed full of commercial art galleries, and there’s always some interesting art on display. And of course there’s the bonus that it’s free!

Just before we went for the unbelievably delicious honey nut cake in the Cappuccino Grand Café at the end of Auguststr, we popped into the Alfred Erhardt Gallery and thoroughly enjoyed the photos on display. As we were leaving I spotted a small A6 Zine called Photography in Berlin.

It’s a great round up of photography related events in Berlin and is published every two months. You can find it for free in various galleries, or order it from their website. They also have a weekly email newsletter.

It’s a great format, packed full of info, and, crucially, bilingual, so my German skills can actually benefit from the side by side English & German texts 😊

In case you’re interested though, here’s a shot of the delicious cake I mentioned. Oh man, it’s so good, and actually not too sweet despite the name. Really quite excellent.

Portrait photo of a rectangular white plate holding a slice of Honey Nut cake dusted with icing sugar and with a single raspberry beside it. A small cake fork sticks out of the cake, and another fork hovers menacingly over the cake, ready to demolish it. In the background we can see a white cafe table on which a cup of espresso rests.
