Behold, and fear not.

No Place Like Dome

Just after returning from Poland I had a chance to attend the No Place Like Dome festival in Sligo. The Force 10 crew from Rathlin were helping out at this year’s festival and seeing as the Jigs and Rigs festival on Rathlin island is taking a year out, it seemed like the one major festival opportunity I’d have. The culinary subsidiary of the Audio Terrorists were also on hand to keep us well fed in style.

It was a great weekend with lots of laughter, costumes, great bands, and fantastic food from the crew kitchen.

Here are a selection of photos which hopefully represent a good cross section of the fun times that were had. You can click on any photo to enlarge it.

Thanks to all involved

That’s it, if you’ve scrolled this far I hope you enjoyed this collection of photos. I’d like to say a big thanks to all of the crew that made the festival run. A big thanks to the crew kitchen which kept me running throughout the festival. I wasn’t able to lend too much help in the kitchen tent due to a shortage of sound engineers.

I’d also like to say thanks to Damien for trusting me to handle the live sound on Sunday evening. Whilst I have actually trained as a sound engineer, that focus was always on studio sound. Taking on the live desk was a little daunting, mainly due to the real-time nature of it all. However, once I got my head around it all, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Finally, a big sorry to Superfly for the failed Saturday evening show. We really tried all we could to get the energy issues sorted at the Dome stage but unfortunately the generator just refused to cooperate and we had to call it quits.

  1. Awesome photographs Alex! Forget about lighting or focusing being a little off – most people don’t notice and it does not really detract from the photograph’s content and composition anyway. Loved the one of Bob, and the beauty among the drummers haha! Great times, thank you for sharing these.

    1. Thanks Jack! Really happy you liked them. I’ve always been a stickler for focussing, but yeah, if the moment is special enough I guess it’s not too big a deal if it’s not 100% precise 🙂
